The project deals with the recovery of a simple dwelling having a regular shape in plan and built on two levels : the case of typical construction that has characterized the development of the area in the 60s. The site is characterized by a narrow and long shape on the north-south direction with a surface that measures 15m and a depth of 35m . It overlooks on its short sides, via mache on one side and via abruzzo on the other one, on the latter it has a free outlook sight in the direction of Cava’s park. On the east and west fronts some buildings are built directly on the border of the property. The final result of the projectcome out from a careful analysis of the peculiarities expressed by the site, the research of the free points of view and the architectural dialogue composition between the existing building and its development. The resulting composition is a game ” interlocking ” of volumes that span, overlap and mingle among them whose shape is firmly rooted on the ground floor whilst to the first level, the volume becomes stretched like a telescope that reaches the view of the park. The building on the ground floor is characterized by mat plastered surfaces alternating with a system of wooden and glass facades opening onto courtyards while the upper volume is covered with fiber cement panels coloured both on the vertical walls and on the roof to put in evidence its monolithic apparence.

Il progetto affronta il tema del recupero di una semplice abitazione avente forma regolare in pianta e costruita su due livelli: trattasi di tipica costruzione che ha caratterizzato lo sviluppo edificatorio della zona negli anni 60. Il lotto è caratterizzato da una forma stretta e molto allungata sull’asse nord-sud con un fronte che misura 15m e una profondità di 35m. Sui lati corti si affaccia, da un lato su via Marche, e dal lato opposto su via Abruzzo da cui si può godere di una visuale libera in direzione del Parco della cava. Sui fronti est ed ovest sono costruiti dei fabbricati direttamente sul confine di proprietà. Il risultato finale del progetto è la naturale conseguenza di un attenta analisi tra difficoltà espresse dal sito, ricerca delle visuali libere e dialogo compositivo tra edificio esistente ed ampliamento. La composizione risultante è un gioco “ad incastro” di volumi che si estendono, si sovrappongono e si compenetrano tra loro la cui forma è ben radicata al piano terra mentre al primo livello il volume diviene allungato e si slancia come un cannocchiale che si protende verso il parco. La costruzione al piano terra è caratterizzata da superfici opache intonacate alternate a sistemi di facciate realizzate in legno e vetro che si aprono sulle corti interne mentre il corpo superiore è rivestito in pannelli di fibrocemento pigmentato sia sulle pareti verticali che in copertura per evidenziarne l’aspetto monolitico.
